1. Third in charge/ Toddler Room leader
Role requirement:
-
A minimum of 3 years’ Experience in early years
-
To hold a level 3 in childcare or above
-
To be able to follow the Early years framework
-
To be able to support the staff and children in your room on a daily basis
-
To ensure all policies and procedures are carried out through the setting
-
Be able to work in partnership with parents, agencies, and all staff at the setting.
-
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Roles and responsibilities:
This role is as a room-based practitioner, your duties would include:
-
To work under the direction of the Management team to keep the nursery running to high standard every day.
-
To provide high standards of childcare this includes monitoring the children providing weekly observations in line with the Early Years foundation Stage 2021 and following the key person approach.
-
To follow the key person approach.
-
To help the room leader and other staff keep the room you are based in running to a high standard, making sure you complete paperwork and planning is done for your key children.
-
To be able to carry out personal care routines with care and privacy while following the setting policies and procedures.
-
To work in a way where you are inclusive taking in to account safeguarding measures, special educational needs, EAL and following the policies and procedures set by the nursery.
-
To use our online journey to keep parents/carer’s up to date with what their child has been up to during the day.
-
To have a good understanding of health and safety, being able to do regular risk assessments for the room and garden environments as well as risk assessing activities and resources.
-
To have a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene being able to keep the room and resources clean and sanitized where needed. This includes the cleaning of bedding, food preparation areas, nappy changing facilities, and the children themselves (changing clothes were needed, and washing hands before food and after toileting/ changing nappies)

To undertake regular and relevant training including in house training as well as professional training (the nursery closes for 3 paid training days a year).

To have good parent partnership skills and to implement to nurseries partnership working activities.
